Pitsford Water is a large reservoir in Brixworth Country Park which situated
approximately 5 miles north of Northampton , just off the A508. There is an information centre in the park next to the lake and there is also the facility to hire a cycle at the centre should you wish to do so.

This loop ride is along a purpose made tarmac cycle track which takes you on a 7 mile circuit of the reservoir so You can start at what ever point you choose on the lakeside.

As you cycle along you will cycle over the dam, past the fishing lodge and past the nature reserve on the northern side of the lake. Near to the information Centre you are also able to get refreshments. We would advise that you check the opening times of Brixworth Country Park before setting off for your cycle ride.

Pitsford Water Reservoir was built in 1956 to supply the town of Northampton, which is about 6 miles to the south. The water is the third-largest in the United Kingdom, with a surface area of 2.85 square miles. The northern half of the reservoir is designated as a nature reserve, but Pitsford Water is also used for sailing, bird watching and fishing.
