As you cycle this route you will pass some of Blackpools famous landmarks and experience the atmosphere of one of the UK’s largest holiday resorts. The sea front promenade is ideal for a leisure family cycle ride or even if your cycling for fitness.
There are many places to stop for all kinds of refreshments along the way.

I start my ride at Bispham on the sea front opposite Red Bank Road.
As you look out to sea you cycle to your left along the promenade/sea front.
As you cycle along you pass some of Blackpools large hotels such as The Norbreck Castle and The Imperial. Keep away from the tram lines which are in use by Blackpools famous trams, and stay on the promenade. (traffic free Area)

As you arrive at Blackpool you will pass The North Pier and see the world famous Blackpool Tower standing on your left as you pedal along. You will also pass along The Golden Mile with all the amusement arcades catching the sea air at the same time.
After a few a couple of miles you will reach The South Pier and The Sand Castle, then later Blackpools Pleasure Beach on your left.
After approx 4 miles of cycling you will reach Starr Gate at the end of The Promenade. Your destination before starting your return journey.

You can of course start the ride wherever you wish along the sea front and cycle for as little or as much as you like to suit your self.

I would recommend that during the busy holiday season that you take extra care on the busy promenade as there will be a lot more pedestrians about.
