Aberfoyle to Callander

Aberfoyle – Callander    14 miles

 

You will have an intial climb to cycle but afterwards you will enjoy a slow decent.

Start at The Forth Inn, Aberfoyle.

From The Forth Inn go to your left towards Trossachs Road and turn right on Trossachs

Road. As you cycle a short way along this road bear left onto The A 821 ‘Dukes Pass.

As you cycle along Dukes Pass and leave Aberfoyle you will be cycling through mountain forest/woodland and as you follow the twisting Dukes Pass you will also pass through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
As you cycle through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park Dukes Pass will bear left and then right again around the shores of Loch Achray.
Carry on Along Dukes Pass all the way along the loch and through Brig’o’Turk and Lendrick. As you cycle out of lendrick you will be cycling along the waters edge of Loch Venacher.
As you pass the end of the loch you will come to a country lane on your right. Turn right along this lane and then turn right at the end of the lane.
Follow this next lane to the end , approx 1.5 miles and you will meet the A81. At the A81 turn left and this will take you into Callander approx half a mile.
On your journey you can opt to go via the off road cycle tracks to Loch Katrine and Brig’o’Turk.

During the main holiday season there is a bus service available ‘The Trossachs Trundler’ .
