Limehouse Basin is the start /end of The Regent Canal which links the Thames with The Union canal. The route is on the canal towpath and is traffic free except when you reach the tunnel on the canal at Islington where you will have to leave the tow path and join the canal at the other end of the tunnel on Wynford Road, approx 500 yards from where you left the canal.

On this route you pass through the districts of Mile End, Bethnal Green, Islington, Kings Cross, and Camden. We ended our ride at regents Park near Marylebone some 11 miles from the start of the ride.
Cycling along this canal through the heart of London you pass numerous places of interest and you ill never be far away from the railway/tube should you wish to return by rail.

As you cycle along the canal there are numerous bridges which cross the canal and you can cross the bridges to the other side as and when suits you.
