The reservoir was completed in 1976 and has a surface area of 920 acres, and is the fourth largest reservoir in Wales. Set in wonderful surroundings it is the ideal setting for a leisure ride around the lake.
Starting from the Visitors Centre (see map) cycle in an anti clockwise direction around the reservoir crossing over the dam and then cycle your way around the lake at your leisure. At the head of the lake there is a section of the cycle ride where you cycle along a short section of the public road.

When you leave the road and rejoin the trail in this section is steep and narrow. Then follow the forest road back down the other side of the lake towards The Visitors Centre.

There is a Visitors Centre, Toilets and several car parks at the reservoir.
